Mike J. Rainelli

Mike J. Rainelli, 86, of the Gosser Hill area of Allegheny Township, died Friday, May 11, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. in the VNA Inpatient Hospice Unit in Butler Township.
He was born March 7, 1926 in Conemaugh Township, son of the late Joseph and Annie (Manifest) Rainelli.
He was married to Malvina (Stankus) Rainelli for 62 years, who survives. He retired in 1958 from the Wean United Foundry in Vandergrift after 32 years employed as a core maker. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Elk County Sportsmen's Association, VFW of Lower Burrell, B.P.O.E. of Ridgway and the Johnsonburg Sportsmen's Club.
Mr. Rainelli enjoyed hunting, trout fishing, camping, going to his camp and coaching the Ridgway Legion baseball team for over 20 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, John J. Rainelli of Allegheny Township; two granddaughters, Sherri Bowser and husband Robert, and Michelle Schettler and husband Adam; three great-granddaughters, Allison, Samantha and Madelyn; one brother, Anthony Rainelli and wife Elaine of Apollo; two sisters, Tina Cristello of Vandergrift and Theresa Dettore of Greensburg.
Friends were welcomed by his family on Monday, May 14, 2012 from 2-4 and 6 p.m. until the time of his funeral ceremonies at 8 p.m. in Clawsons, 170 Main St., Leechburg. Officiating was the Rev. Dr. Ronald W. Raptosh, Pastor of Faith United Methodist Church in Delmont. Interment with full military honors presented by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Section W at Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
