Michael A. Bigley

Michael A. Bigley, 61, of 1914 Settle Road, Newark Valley, N.Y., died Monday afternoon, August 15, 2011, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, N.Y. following a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his death.
He was born December 14, 1949 in Pittsburgh, son of the late Frederick and Dorothy Wallace Bigley.
On February 5, 1972, in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, he married Lynn Steudler, who survives.
He graduated from Keystone Oaks High School, Pittsburgh. He also attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
He was employed by Johnsonburg Municipal Authority for 30 years before retiring in 2009. He lived in Johnsonburg for 30 years. He resided in Newark Valley, N.Y. for the past two years and also spent time living in Mechanicsburg.
He is survived by two daughters, Shari, Mrs. Ken McGraw of Mechanicsburg, and Michelle, Mrs. Brian Sherwood of Newark Valley, N.Y.; six grandchildren; two sisters, Barb Doak of Jefferson Hills and Nancy Hager of Pittsburgh; and a brother, Charles Bigley and his wife Donna of Daytona Beach, Fla.
A memorial service for Michael A. Bigley will be conducted at Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut Street, Johnsonburg, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17, with Father Eric Vogt, pastor of Sacred Heart Church, St. Marys, officiating. Burial will be private in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
There will be no visitation. Friends and family are invited to attend the memorial service on Wednesday morning.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Foundation, with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
