Maxine K. Johnson

Maxine K. Johnson, 94, of 1310 Mohan Run Rd., Ridgway, died Thursday evening, Dec. 26, 2013 at Elk Haven Nursing Home.
She was born July 2, 1919, in Ridgway, daughter of the late Martin and Charlotte (McDowell) Glantz. She married Clark S. Johnson on April 11, 1939, in Bolivia, N.Y. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2007.
Maxine was a graduate of the Ridgway High School. She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she was a past Worthy Matron, and a member of the White Shrine where she was a past Worthy Priestess.
She was known as the lady with the pin hats and beaded gowns. She had been employed by Van's Ladies Bazaar and then by IPM for 17 years.
She is survived by one daughter, Charlotte Russell, of Ridgway; four grandchildren, Shawn Russell of Salem, Ind., Christopher Johnson of New York, N.Y., Anne DeMers of Philadelphia, and Sarah Kelly of Philadelphia; and seven great-grandchildren, Dustin, Shannon, Theo, Fiona, Stephen, Logan and Eve.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Theodore Johnson.
A memorial service for Maxine K. Johnson will be held at a later date and time to be announced.
Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church at 212 Cook Ave., Ridgway, Pa. 15853.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
