Mary Margaret (Sis) Dussia

Mary Margaret (Sis) Dussia, age 93, of 505 Sheridan Ave., Ridgway, died Saturday morning, Aug. 20, 2011, at Elk Regional Health Center.
She was born March 24, 1918 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Paul F. and Cecilia (Scherer) Rees. She married John Wesley Dussia on June 14, 1948, he preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1985. She had resided in Ridgway and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church, the C.D. of A. She was a graduate of St. Leo High School. Sis enjoyed gardening exercising and her family. She served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a WAVE in the Navy Department in Washington, D.C. She had been employed by Bayer-Volk Furniture, the Wood Corner and B&B Cards and Gifts.
She is survived by six sons, Louis P. Dussia of Warren, and Stephen J. Dussia, John H. Dussia, Peter G. Dussia, Jerome M. Dussia and his wife JoAnn, and Ralph F. Dussia, all of Ridgway; three sisters, Adline Rees and Patricia Covel, both of Ridgway, and Zita Verne of Brockway; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Rees of Ridgway; a brother-in-law, Bob Weidert of Ridgway; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Deacon Paul J. Rees, Karl Rees, Eugene Reese, and a brother in infancy; and two sisters, Rose Mary Yarmey and Yvonne (Bonnie) Weidert.
A Memorial Mass for Mary Margaret Dussia will be celebrated at a later date and will be announced.
Burial will at St. Leo Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Memorials, if desired, can be made to St. Leo's School. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
