Lucille M. Silcosky, 87, of Silver Creek Terrace in St. Marys and formerly of 163 W. Center St., Johnsonburg, died on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012 at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys following a brief illness.
She was born on Nov. 15, 1924, in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Walter J. and Grace Meise Winters.
She married William "Bill" Silcosky on Jan. 6, 1951 in St. John's Lutheran Church in Johnsonburg. He died on Nov. 17, 1998.
Lucille resided in St. Marys for the past two years. She had lived most of her life in Johnsonburg. She was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1942.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Johnsonburg and was an avid bingo player. She was employed by Stackpole Carbon Company for 42 years, retiring in 1986.
She is survived by three daughters, Marcia L. Bryndel of Nashville, Tenn., Gail M., Mrs. Rick Gavazzi of St. Marys, and Darcy L., Mrs. Larry Allegretto of Wilcox; one stepdaughter, Mary Ella Eubanks of Nashville, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Melissa Fedorko, Clint Bryndel, Eric and Chelsea Gavazzi, and Cory Leader; two step-grandchildren, Marc and Stacy Eubanks; three great-grandchildren, Bentley Gavazzi, and Kade and Quinn Eubanks; one brother, Leo "Boob" Winters of St. Marys; four sisters, Sara Pusl of Ridgway, Hilda, Mrs. Gene Gasbarre of Ridgway, Helen Eckert of Ridgway and Rosella, Mrs. Harry Wolfe of Ridgway; and many nieces and nephews.
Lucille was predeceased by her parents, husband, brothers Tom, Lester and Mike Winters, and sister Rachel Brown, and a sister in infancy.
A funeral service for Lucille M. Silcosky will be conducted at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Stephen Fair, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church in Johnsonburg. Interment will be held at the Wardvale Lutheran Cemetery in Johnsonburg.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg, on Tuesday, Jan. 24 from 6 to 8 p.m.
