Louis Paul “Louie” Galluzzi Jr.
Louis Paul “Louie” Galluzzi Jr., 83, a Shawmut Road, Brockport resident died Friday, March 28, 2014 at his residence. Born Nov. 16, 1930 in Brockway, he was the son of the late Louis and Mary Gregorio Galluzzi. He was married on April 7, 1956 to Bobbie Starr and she survives. Louie had been employed at Brockway Glass until his retirement in 1990 in the Production Staff department. He then went to work at Emhart Manufacturing in Elmira, N.Y. as a consultant. Louie was the 1994 Man of the Year at Holy Cross Church in Brandy Camp where he also served as an altar server and bingo caller. At the time of his death he was a member at St. Tobias Church in Brockway. He is a member of Parson-Marnatti Post #95 of the American Legion, Keystone Marines and the William Dixon Marine attachment in Clearfield. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a sergeant during the Korean War in the 1st Marine Division, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Fox Company as a machine gunner. He enjoyed winemaking and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Louis P. (Cindy) Galluzzi III, also of Brockport; four grandchildren, Nicole Galluzzi Young, Lance Potash, Cole Gibson, and Lane Gibson; and six great-grandchildren, Avery, Anna Bella, Levi, Andrew, Chase and Caine. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Rose Greenalch and Florence Siple; and seven brothers, Sam, Ed, Ralph, John, Andy, Wally and Richard Galluzzi. A Mass of Christian Burial Louis Paul “Louie” Galluzzi Jr. will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 2 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Tobias Church in Brockway with Msgr. Charles Kaza presiding. Burial will follow in St. Tobias Cemetery. Full military honors will be accorded graveside by Parson-Marnatti Post #95 of the American Legion Wednesday morning.Friends will be received on Tuesday, April 1 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home, Inc. in Brockway. A Vigil Service will be held Tuesday evening at 8:45 p.m., also at the funeral home.
