Local area avoids Sandy damage

Photo by Becky Polaski – Rain from superstorm Sandy had a higher volume of water than normal flowing through the Elk Creek on Tuesday morning.
Elk County was spared the brunt of "Superstorm Sandy" while coastal New Jersey and Long Island were rocked by the violent weather.
