LeRoy B. Simons

LeRoy B. Simons, age 80, of Bridge Street, Johnsonburg, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, at Elk Haven Nursing Home after a short illness.
He was born Feb. 9, 1931 in Oil City, son of Donald F. and Loretta (Payne) Simons, deceased.
He married Marjorie (Bratton) in 1945 in Bath, England; she survives.
He was a graduate of Hamlin High School in Hazelhurst, received his BS Degree in Business Administration from Tri-State College of Angola, Ind. and attended St. Bonaventure University towards his MBA degree.
He served six years in the U.S. Air Force attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He was employed at the Johnsonburg Paper Mill in different managerial positions, retiring after 30 years.
He was a 50-year member of the James W. Brown Masonic Lodge of Johnsonburg, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the Johnsonburg Senior Center.
He was raised in Guffey, PA, traveled in his youth and came to Johnsonburg in 1961.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two children, Jacqueline and her husband Tom Williams of Webster, N.Y., and David Simons of Johnsonburg; five grandchildren, Madeline Williams of Nashville, Tenn., and Joshua, Casey, Dana and Cal Simons of Johnsonburg; one great-grandson, Liam Perry Oakes; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Edward and Donald Simons; and one sister, his twin,Mary Lou Carl.
At the request of the Family there will be no public visitation.  Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the Family.
Interment will be in Lebanon Lutheran Cemetery, Kane. 
Memorials, if desired, as suggested to Johnsonburg Library or Johnsonburg Senior Center.
