Leo Tamburlin

Leo Tamburlin, 93, of Route 219, Brockport, died Feb. 21, 2012 at his residence.
He was born April 19, 1918, in Kersey, son of the late Peter and Felicita Ferraza Tamburlin. He married Lorraine Grecco, who survives.
He was a member at St. Tobias Church in Brockway. He was a partner of Tamburlin Brothers Coal Company and a coal miner until he retired in 1977. For the years following his retirement, most of his time was enjoyed as the caretaker of the Tamburlin Family Camp. Leo was a chartered member of Horton Township Sportsmen’s, Fox Township Eagles, Father & Son Stock Club, Rock Shanty Hunting Club, Hoofer’s Card Club and the Army & Navy Club. He was also an avid hunter, having shot a deer last season at 93 years old.
In addition to his wife of 65 years, he is survived by two sons, Gary and his wife LouAnn of Kersey, and Robert and his wife Louan of Pine, Colo.; six grandchildren, Jeff Tamburlin and his wife Jen, Kim Parrett and her husband Jeff, Gina Geer and her husband Jim, Sheena Tamburlin, Alicia Sheeley and her husband Matt and Joseph Tamburlin; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Doris Caimi of Cleveland, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers, Batista, Alfred, Victor, Frank, Rudolph, George, Joseph and John Tamburlin; and two sisters: Mary Morelli and Nina Pedace.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Leo Tamburlin will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 at St. Tobias Church in Brockway, with Msgr. Charles Kaza officiating. Burial will take place at St. Tobias Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 at St. Tobias.
A vigil service will be held Friday evening at 8:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
