Briggs' resignation as treasurer dates to June, but was made official at the meeting Thursday. LaValle was voted into the position by the board after he was the only member nominated for the position.

The Ridgway Township Municipal Authority met Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Ridgway Township Building to discuss the open treasurer position within the authority, as well as other matters.
Former treasurer Bill Briggs resigned in June but the authority never voted to accept his resignation until Thursday's meeting. The board approved Briggs' resignation as long as Briggs would write a new resignation letter.
