Ridgway girls basketball is looking to go back to basics this upcoming season in an effort to help build the program back up from two straight 1-21 seasons.
New varsity head coach Stacy Kifer said the girls have been focusing on fundamentals and refining skills.
“We have been hitting the fundamentals extremely hard, doing a lot of conditioning with the girls,” Kifer said. “We are rebuilding the program and we’re teaching things they are not used to and refining skills that they have known. It’s a slow and steady progress. It’ll take a couple years to get this stuff going. We need to have patience with the girls and work hard. I’m going to guarantee in two or three years, we’re going to see a big difference in the program.”
