Lady Elkers lose to Lady Lions after decisive third quarter

Jessica Kifer had 11 points for the Lady Elkers during action Monday night against Clarion-Limestone.

The third quarter proved decisive for Clarion-Limestone in a 58-26 victory over Ridgway Monday night at Ridgway Area High School.
Things looked promising for Ridgway at halftime as the two teams were tied at 14-all. The Lady Lions then turned the game in their favor quickly, scoring eight quick points in the first two minutes. Megan Kelley and Abby Mellottz opened with quick field goals for Clarion-Limestone. After another Lady Lion hoops, Alissa Burns would score on a layup for a 22-14 lead.
Lily Port added a field goal as Clarion-Limestone used a half-court trap to stifle the Lady Elkers coming out of halftime. Port's field goal was followed by a 3-pointer from Josie Stitt which put the Lady Lions up 27-14. Stitt had a game-high 17 points for the Lady Lions.
