Lady Elkers lose in first round against Keystone

KNOX – Keystone softball rallied with a 4-run seventh inning to win 8-7 over Ridgway in the first round of the District 9 Class A softball playoffs held Monday afternoon at Keystone High School.
Ridgway entered the bottom of the seventh inning with a 7-4 lead. Keystone's Kari McQuiston flew out to open the inning. Shayla Chapman then came up with a walk. Marina Bowser doubled home McQuiston to cut the Ridgway lead to 7-5. Bowser would score on a long double by Erica Reedinger to get Keystone within one at 7-6 with one out and the tying run at second. McKenna Shick grounded out to shortstop Jenni Thomas to record the second out of the seventh inning.
Mallory Reed then came up and singled home the tying run in Reedinger to tie the game at 7-all.
Amber Hess then ended the game with a walkoff triple which scored Reed and gave the Lady Panthers an 8-7 lead.
