Lady Elkers fall to Lady Tide

A late second quarter run would propel Curwensville to a 52-24 victory over Ridgway Tuesday night at Ridgway Area High School.
A Kiersten Hinton mid-range jumper had Ridgway ahead 14-13 near the midway point of the second quarter before the Lady Tide closed out the first half on an 11-2 run. Tierra Shope gave Curwensville the lead with a mid-range jumper of her own before Ciara Strickland answered with a transition hoop for the Lady Tide. Strickland led the Lady Tide with 21 points while Shope had 10 points for Curwensville. Shope split a pair of free throws before Abby Dugo would score in transition. Shauna Guy added a hoop before Strickland drained a 3-pointer for a 24-14 Curwensville lead. Jessica Kifer added a hoop for the Lady Elkers with 26 seconds left in the first half as the Lady Tide led 24-16 at halftime.
