Kathryn F. Paes

Kathryn F. Paes, 91, of Ridgmont Assisted Living Facility in Ridgway and formerly of 3809 Grant Rd., died Monday evening, Dec. 26, 2011, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 24, 1920 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Albert and Katherine (Simon) Fuhrer.
She married Elwood M. Paes in 1952 and he preceded her in death in 1970.
She had resided in Ridgway for 30 years and was a former Harrisburg resident. She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, a member of the retired club at the church, and a member of the Senior Center. She was a 1937 graduate of the Ridgway High School. She had been employed by the Public Utility Commission in Harrisburg for 43 years.
She is survived by four nieces, Elaine Matson of Middletown, Elizabeth Mader of Ridgway, Cassie Zilcosky of Ballston Lake, N.Y., and Dorothy Weichman of St. Marys; and one nephew, Eugene Abplanalp of Treasure Lake.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and George Fuhrer; four sisters, Dora Warmbrod, Esther Abplanalp, Blanche Lyle and Mabel Abplanalp; and three nephews, Bill Abplanalp, Dick Warmbrod and George Warmbrod.
Funeral and Committal Services for Kathryn F. Paes will be held at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church on Friday at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Alina Gayeuski, Intern at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Rolling Green Cemetery in Harrisburg. Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home on Thursday from 6-8 p.m.
