Kane baseball team defeats Rams 11-7

May 7, 2014

Cameron Grumley slides into third ahead of the tag during Tuesday's game in Kane. The Rams' batters struggled at the plate, managing only four hits against the Wolves. Kane won the contest 11-7 to get their first win of the season.

The Kane Wolves baseball team defeated the Johnsonburg Rams 11-7 on Tuesday at Pat Santilli Field. The win was the first of the season for the Wolves, who were playing in only their second home game of 2014.
Jake Lister started on the mound for the Wolves. The sophomore righty struggled with his control initially, walking the first two Rams, Cole Peterson and Cameron Grumley. Taylor Feronti plated Peterson with a single to left center and advanced to second on the throw home. After Eric Bevacqua reached base on an error to load the bases with no outs, Lister got a strikeout to bring up David Sallack. The Rams’ second baseman laid down a bunt on a suicide squeeze to bring in Grumley. Michael Solorio dropped in a single over the shortstop to drive in two more runs for the visitors, giving them the early 4-0 lead.
