ST. MARYS – Now in its 11th year, the annual K-9 Karnival Walk 'n Wag, sponsored by the Elk County Humane Society, is taking place this afternoon at Benzinger Park in St. Marys.
Canines of all kinds are invited to participate, with registration from 11-11:45 a.m. and the walk around the park beginning promptly at noon. All participants will receive a goodie bag with gifts for both themselves and their dog.
Following the walk, a variety of games and contests will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Among them are "paw"traits artwork, where dogs dip their paws into paint and place them on a canvas; toenail painting for canines; keepsake plaster pawprints; a tunnel run; the chance to dive into a straw pile to find lost treasures such as bones; or bobbing for hot dogs.
