JOHNSONBURG – Let the fun begin.
The Johnsonburg Rams (23-2) opened the District 9 Class A playoffs Tuesday night with a 63-21 victory over the Union Knights of Rimersburg.
The Rams took advantage of another fast start Tuesday and jumped out to an early 25-5 lead after the first quarter of play.
"I thought we shot the ball well, got some steals early and went up early," said Johnsonburg head boys varsity basketball coach Bill Shuey. "We didn't know much about Union coming in but we knew they were an aggressive team that played good defense. They're a young team but we knew they didn't have a lot of height, and that it would be an uptempo game."
