Johnsonburg girl is fire queen

Rhianon Fowler (center) of Johnsonburg was crowned Friday evening as the 2011 queen for the Central District Volunteer Firemen's Association (CDVFA). The Queen Contest took place at the Kane Middle School auditorium as part of the CDVFA's three-day convention in Kane. At left, are Cassidy Noel of Irvona (Clearfield County), second runner-up; and Katlyn Diehl of Bedford, first runner-up. At right, are Sadey Crooks of Saxton (Huntington County), the 2010 Central District queen; and Ashleigh Woodward of Three Springs (Huntington County), winner of the Wayne D. Cunningham Memorial Trophy as Miss Congeniality. Connie Holt of the Pine Glen Fire Company (Centre County) served as chairman of the Queen Contest. Local radio personality Barry Morgan was the master-of-ceremonies. Fowler, who is the daughter of Robert and Joyce Fowler of Johnsonburg, will be a junior at Johnsonburg High School. The CDVFA represents 261 volunteer fire companies within a 23-county area of Pennsylvania.
