Johnsonburg forfeits Curwensville football game

JOHNSONBURG – The Johnsonburg Rams (0-9) will forfeit their second game in a row Friday due to injuries and a low number of healthy players on the football team's roster.
"We're forfeiting against Curwensville (7-2)," Johnsonburg head varsity football coach Jesse Schreiber confirmed Monday afternoon. "We're not going to be able to play this week because we're still banged up and have some players who haven't been [medically] cleared yet."
After forfeiting an Oct. 21 contest against Brockway (6-2), initial plans called for the Rams coaching personnel to reassess the team and prepare for an Oct. 28 game against Curwensville.
At the time, the team had only 13 eligible players due to various injuries, and only 12 players were available Oct. 21. The Rams reportedly started with 21 players in August but injuries have derailed the team's season.
