Johnsonburg finishes second as a team at districts

BRADFORD – The Johnsonburg Rams Golf Team placed second in the District 9 Championships at Pine Acres Country Club.
The team of Calvin Christoff, Cameron Grumley, Luke Shreffler, and J.P. Allegretto carded a team total of 336 to claim runner-up honors; defeating the Bradford Owls by two strokes, but falling short of team champion Punxsutawney, who shot a 332. Only nine of the 24 schools competing in the District Championships qualified for the team portion of the competition, including Ridgway and Elk County Catholic. 
Competing for the District 9 Individual Title were Johnsonburg's Calvin Christoff, Cameron Grumley, and Luke Shreffler. Christoff, currently in third place, shot a 5-over 77, Grumley carded a solid 82, and Shreffler fired a respectable 85. All three Ram Golfers made the 85-stroke cut and will complete in the second round of the championship on Saturday, October 1.
Allegretto finished with a score of 92.
For Elk County Catholic, Elliott Struble led the way with an 82. He was followed by Brandon Schlimm 90, Jess Jaynes 93 and Bruno Cavalline 101.
For Johnsonburg, Calvin Christoff finished with a 77, followed by Cameron Grumley 82, Luke Shreffler 85 and J.P. Allegretto 92.
For Ridgway, Josh Rosetti had an 81, followed by Jordan Lundin 91, Josh Mitchell 92 and Jesse Reynolds 95.
