Johnsonburg bank robbed at gunpoint Tuesday
JOHNSONBURG – Authorities are on the lookout for a man who robbed a Johnsonburg bank at gunpoint Tuesday. Johnsonburg Police Chief and lead investigator Bryan Parana said that it was roughly 1:50 p.m. Tuesday when a masked man armed with a pistol walked into the bank, approached a teller and demanded money before making off with an undisclosed sum. "The individual fled on foot after being given an undetermined amount of cash and traveled east and down between First and Second Avenue towards Bergen Street," Parana said. Parana said there were several eyewitnesses who saw the suspect running from the bank and up the hill along Bridge Street adjacent to First Avenue, Second Avenue and Bergen Street, after which the trail went cold.
