Janice J. Casolo, 76, of 502 Dewey St., Ridgway, died, Wednesday, April 5, 2012 at Elk Regional Health Center.
She was born Aug. 16, 1935, in Ridgway, the daughter of Joseph and Kathryn Wilson Papa. She married Joseph M. Casolo, who predeceased her on Jan. 24, 2005.
Mrs. Casolo was a lifelong Ridgway resident. She was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church. She was an active member of the Ridgway Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed reading, quilting, and being with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She retired from Quality Components after 38 years of service.
She is survived by three children, Valerie Kelly (Timothy), Frank Casolo (Laurie), and Laura Krise, all of Ridgway; eight grandchildren, Erin (Kelly) Schaaf, Andrew Kelly (Emily), Jamie (Casolo) Delaquilla, Jennica (Casolo) Baloga, Janelle Casolo, Jared Casolo, Katie Krise, and Diana Krise; and by six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Veryl Billick of Ridgway, her twin, Joyce Amacher of Ridgway, and Helen Streich of Carrollton, Texas; and by a brother, Joseph Papa of Desputant, Va.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband, and a sister, Shirley Anderson.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Janice J. Casolo will be celebrated at St. Leo’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Fr. Brian Vossler, pastor. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Friends will be received at the Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home on Monday, April 9, 2012 from 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Ridgway Public Library, 329 Center St., Ridgway, PA 15853; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
