Ida J. Allegretto

Ida J. Allegretto, 86, of 814 Spruce St., Johnsonburg, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 9, 2010, at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys following a short illness.
She was born on July 18, 1924 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Andrew and Stella Gorna Mrofchinski. She married Theodore "Ted" Allegretto on Jan. 30, 1946, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 1994.
She resided in Johnsonburg most of her life. She also resided in Buffalo, N.Y. for a brief time. She graduated from Johnsonburg High School in 1942.
Mrs. Allegretto was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Holy Rosary Funeral Luncheon Committee, Elk County Cursillo Movement, and the Johnsonburg Senior Center. She loved to dance and always had a cheerful personality. She was also a member of the Quilters. She loved to crochet and was an avid card player and walker, walking four and a half miles a day for the past 26 years. She also loved Wii bowling, polka music and dancing to polkas.
She had been employed by Stackpole Carbon Co. for 10 years and also had worked at IPM in Ridgway.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela "Pam," Mrs. Francis Dilulio of Johnsonburg and Carol, Mrs. Dick Lanzoni of Brookville; three sons, Theodore W. Allegretto and his wife, Diane, of Erie, David Allegretto and his wife, JoAnne, of Wilcox, and Terrance "Terry" Allegretto and his wife, Carol, of Johnsonburg; seven grandchildren, Michael, Anthony, Craig, Emily, Hilary, Chelsea and Hannah Allegretto; and three great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Anthony and Maria Allegretto.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew and Bruno Mrofchinski, and a sister, Eva Anderson. She was the last member of her immediate family.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Ida J. Allegretto will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, on Friday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Andrew Mallick, Pastor of Our Lady of the Lake in Ocala, Fla., and a longtime family friend.
Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Johnsonburg.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
If desired, memorial contributions should be made to the Johnsonburg Senior Center.
