Humane Society concerned about (rising) cat population

ST. MARYS – Recently representatives from the Elk County Humane Society addressed the growing problem of feline overpopulation and their proposed efforts to lessen the burden on the shelter and area residents.
Elk County Humane Society President Joe Boylan explained the goal of the society is to provide an adequate place to temporarily house animals until most can be adopted and to educate the community on the benefits associated with spaying and neutering to reduce the magnitude of the situation going forward.
