House burns in Johnsonburg fire

JOHNSONBURG – Emergency responders were called shortly after 5 p.m. for a fire at 120 Mary St. in Johnsonburg.
Elk Company 2 (Johnsonburg Fire Department) and St. Marys Ambulance were called at 5:17 p.m. A second alarm sounded five minutes later for Elk Company 6 (Wilcox Fire Department), Elk Company 4 (Ridgway Fire Department) and Elk Company 1 (Crystal Fire Department).
The residence is located just a few blocks away from the Johnsonburg Fire Department.
The front of the house was charred after the fire. Johnsonburg Fire Department chief Bob Dickey was unavailable for comment Tuesday night.
The Kane Fire Department was on standby at the Wilcox Fire Department during the fire.
