Home invasion defendants due in court

December 13, 2012

On the evening of Jan. 2, 2011, an 89-year-old Johnsonburg man was home alone when two intruders forced their way into his home and held him to the ground while brandishing a knife and demanding money from him.
"We don't want to hurt you," one of the intruders allegedly told Thomas G. Zelechoski as he was pinned to the kitchen floor.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, after taking $160 from Zelechoski and ransacking his medications, the men left him unharmed but shaken up. The affidavit also stated that prior to leaving the home, the individual who had been wielding the knife throughout the ordeal "shook the victim's hand and told him not to call police or they would be back."
