ST. MARYS – Talented young musicians from throughout the area will showcase their skills at the annual Sounds of Autumn Band Competition on Saturday, Sept. 22 at St. Marys Area High School's Dutch Country Stadium.
The competition, a cooperative effort between St. Marys Area and Elk County Catholic high schools, is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. following the opening ceremony at 12:45 p.m., where both bands will join together in performing the national anthem.
"It is great to showcase all of our local high school marching bands. We do not get many chances to show off in front of a home crowd all at the same time, so it is nice to show our support for one another," said Adam Brooks, SMAHS band director.
