Greta A. Eckert

Greta A. Eckert, 79, of 351 N. St. Marys St., St. Marys, and formerly of Ridgway-Johnsonburg Road, Johnsonburg, died on Friday morning, March 1, 2013 at Elk Regional Health Center.
She was born March 13, 1933 in Johnsonburg, a daughter of the late Ralph and Ruth St. John Dorio.
On Oct. 6, 1962 in Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg, she married the late Wilfred E. "Buck" Eckert Jr., who preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 2012.
Mrs. Eckert was a graduate of Johnsonburg Area High School and a member of Holy Rosary Church, where she enjoyed volunteering with the funeral luncheon committee. She worked for many years at Stackpole's in Johnsonburg, and then retired from Elk Haven Nursing Home after more than 23 years as a dietary aide.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Edward Eckert of Idaho; a daughter, Andrea Dornisch of St. Marys; and six grandchildren, John, Jacob and Caitlyn Eckert and Brianna, Kendra and Brant Dornisch.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph, Nick, and Jim Dorio; and five sisters, Carmella Mikulski, Ardith Dorio, Sheila Meyers, Marguerite Stelene, and Rosalie Glatt.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Greta A. Eckert will be celebrated at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Johnsonburg on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 10 a.m., with the Rev. David Wilson, pastor, as celebrant. 
Burial will follow in the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Johnsonburg.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys, on Monday evening from 5-8 p.m.
