ST. MARYS – Area residents will soon have an extra incentive to utilize the Community Recycling Center, located at the Stackpole Complex in St. Marys. The center is currently open three days a week and collects a variety of recyclable material, such as number 1 and 2 plastic bottles and cardboard.
Bekki Titchner, recycling/solid waste coordinator, explained that at the end of May she was approved for a Stackpole Family Foundation Grant to help fund some incentives at the center.
"We got a Stackpole Family Foundation Grant, a small grant to help go 50/50 with us in buying things that we can use for monthly giveaways," Titchner said.
She remarked that she is hoping to get individuals to provide a list of either their mailing addresses or email addresses so that a database of area residents can be established.
