Gilberta R. Myers

Gilberta R. Myers, 81, of 408 Oak St., Ridgway, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at Elk Regional Health Center.
She was born January 23, 1930, in Portland Mills, the daughter of the late Thomas and Ruth Jefferson DeCecchis.
On April 12, 1947, she married Howard H. Myers Jr., who survives.
Mrs. Myers had been a Ridgway resident since 1953. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and the Port-Lake Civic Club. She had been employed by Harry Law (Justice of the Peace) and she was a Justice of the Peace for 10 years. She was employed at Clarion Sintered Metals for 27 1/2 years as a Tool Crib attendant when she retired. At Clarion, she was president and union steward of I.M.A.W. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children, Ruth Gaddy (Horce) of Newnan, Ga., Susan Jordan (James) of Ridgway, Ronald Myers (Bernadine) of Ridgway, Donald Myers (Lisa) of St. Marys, and Judy Beth Northrop (Edward) of Waterford; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and by a brother, Orlando DeCecchis of Wilmington, Del.
She was predeceased by her parents; a granddaughter, Ann Marie Martino; a grandson, Frank Clark; two sisters, Edna Cain and Onorina Cesa; and by two brothers, Howard DeCecchis and Joseph DeCecchis.
Funeral and committal services for Gilberta R. Myers will be held on Monday, Feb. 7 at 11 a.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. David C. Roddy. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends will be received at the Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home on Sunday, Feb. 6 from 1 to 5 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, 19 South Broad St., Ridgway, PA 15853.
