Gerald L. Boroi

Gerald L. Boroi, 78, of 609 Shelvey Summit Rd., Kersey, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013 at Elk Regional Health Center.
He was born Oct. 22, 1935 in Elbon, a son of the late Samuel and Sara Lindenmuth Boroi.
On May 24, 1958, in Toby Methodist Church, he married Carol Fredrickson Boroi, who preceded him in death on April 11, 2005. On Oct. 16, 2007 in Toby United Methodist Church, he then married Doris Gearhart Wolff Boroi, who survives.
Mr. Boroi was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of the Toby United Methodist Church. 
He retired from the Carbide-Graphite Group after more than 43 years of service. He was a member of the Kersey Fire Department where he also volunteered with the fire police for more than 40 years. He was also a member of the VFW in Ridgway, the Eagles in Ridgway, the Dagus Mines Legion, the Army-Navy in Crenshaw and the Social Club in Johnsonburg. He enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 
In addition to his wife, Doris Gearhart Wolff Boroi, he is survived by a daughter, Sharon Wonderling of Kersey; a son, Dick Boroi and his wife Cynthia of Kersey; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Rosalie "Honey" Wonderly and her husband Robert of Kersey and Shirley Fredrickson of Kersey; and a sister-in-law, Marie Boroi of Toby.
He is also survived by many extended family members, including Patricia, Mrs. Tom Mecca of St. Marys; Brenda, Mrs. Dave Feltes of Irwin; Donna, Mrs. Paul Kimes of Kane; Ralph "Tom" Payne and his wife Barbara of Brookville; Jim Lewis and his wife Candy of Kane; Richard Wolff and his wife Ruth of Daguscahonda; and Debora, Mrs. Charles Podalski of Dagus Mines.
In addition to his parents and his first wife, Carol Fredrickson Boroi, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Naomi Clark Boroi; and a son, Terry Boroi, who died in 2004. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph, Bernard, Richard and Irvin; three brothers in infancy; and by a sister, Beatrice Boroi.
Funeral Services for Gerald L. Boroi will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 North Michael St., St. Marys on Monday, Dec. 30 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Lance S. Tucker, officiating.
Burial will be in the Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Ridgway.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 29, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
