Gerald C. “Gerry” Luchini

Gerald C. “Gerry” Luchini, 58, of Old Byrnedale Rd., Weedville, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2011 at the Altoona Regional Health Center, as a result of injuries sustained in an October 31 trucking accident.
He was born June 12, 1953 in Kersey, son of Helen M. (Fry) Luchini and the late Francis Luchini.
He married Joan A. (Smith) on Aug. 23, 1975, and she survives.
He was a graduate of St. Marys High School and worked at C/G of St. Marys for 26 years, Catalone Pipe & Supply of Penfield, and has been a delivery driver for Winward Petroleum since 2005. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, Bennetts Valley American Legion, past member of the Jay Township Volunteer Fire Company and past member of the HOGs. He enjoyed hunting, camping, ATV riding, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers or Jeff Gordon, gardening, farming and helping others. He lived all his life on Byrnedale Hill.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Jason C. Luchini of Weedville; a daughter, Jennifer L. Luchini and her fiancé Jeff Gabler of Weedville; a brother, Daniel Luchini and his wife Joanne of Weedville; and three sisters, Mrs. Roger (Lucy) Beimel of Kersey, Janet Luchini of Kersey, and Mrs. Lee (Christine) Koss of Kersey.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Drobney.
Funeral services for Gerald C. “Gerry” Luchini will be held on Thursday, Nov. 24 at 10 a.m. at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home, Penfield, with Father Thomas Tyler officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home on Wednesday, Nov. 23 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Punxsutawney Fire Company or the Jay Township Volunteer Fire Company.
