Gaylon D. Gardner

Gaylon D. Gardner, 52, of 5179 Montmorenci Rd., Ridgway, died Sunday morning, Feb. 23, 2014 at Elk Haven Nursing Home.
He was born July 29, 1961 in Ridgway, son of David H. and Sandra L. (Thompson) Gardner.
He married Heike Baumgarten on Feb. 20, 1986, she survives.
He had resided in Ridgway all of his life and was a graduate of the Ridgway High School. Gaylon loved to ice fish and hunt, be outdoors and enjoyed making arrowheads. He served in the U.S. Army for seven years and was a peacetime veteran; he also served in the Pennsylvania National Guard for 14 years.
He had been employed by Sylvania for 23 years.
He is survived by his wife Heike Gardner of Ridgway; one daughter, Nicole M. Gardner of Ridgway; one son, Jesse D. Gardner of Ridgway; his parents, David H. and Sandra L. Gardner of Ridgway; one brother, Bruce Gardner of Mt. Jewett; one sister, Shawna Fulmer and her husband Jason of Grand Junction, Colo.; one niece and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A Memorial Service for Gaylon D. Gardner will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Ronald L. Burkett, Pastor of the Hallton Church. There will be no visitation. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the donor's choice.
