Gary W. Brown

Gary W. Brown, 73, of 5847 Beechwood Rd., Emporium, died at Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys on Sunday morning, Oct. 20, 2013.
He was born Jan. 25, 1940 in Ridgway, a son of the late Guy A. "Bill" and Lois Gibbs Brown.
On Nov. 30, 1957 in Brookville, he married Judith Pendleton Brown, who survives.
He attended Cameron County High School. He was the owner of B&B Tool and Die until he retired. Currently, he owned Lake Clear Creek Deer and Fish Farm. Gary also served as a deputy for the PA Fish and Game Commission for 30 years and was a member of the PA Deer Association. Gary was an avid hunter, fisherman and Steelers fan.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Judith Pendleton Brown, is a son, James "Jim" Brown, Emporium; three daughters, Tracy Brown Steffer, Emporium, Wendy and her husband Ken Chu, Fenton, Mich., Stacy Vogwell and her husband Jerry, Schnecksville; six grandchildren, Susan and Bobby Steffer, Anthony, Jamie Gerg, Mason and Austin Vogwell; three great-grandchildren, Rileigh, McKenna Calabrese and Rileigh Roesch; two sisters, Mary "Sis" Burton, Salem, Va. and Peggy Schneider and husband Carl "Spike", Ridgway; one brother, Barry Brown and his wife Donna, Emporium, and one half-brother, William "Bill" Brown, Corry.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Anna Reid and in infancy Jeanette Brown.
Funeral and committal services for Gary W. Brown will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 at 4 p.m. with Father Matt Ryan, Rector, officiating.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Brown Family Farm, Emporium.
