Frederick J. Moore

Frederick J. Moore, 76, of 108 Madison Ave., Ridgway, passed away, Monday, Nov. 5, 2012.
He was born April 4, 1936, in Emporium, the son of Jay P. and Lula N. Chandler Moore. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Louise Shadd Moore. He had been a Ridgway resident for 35 years. Mr. Moore had been employed at Country Fair, Erich Trucking, Pine Crest Manor, and Industrial Steel and Pipe. He served in the U.S. Air Force in both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He enjoyed reading, fishing, and talking with his many friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by eight children, Nada Carr of Kersey, Marsha Meyer of Ridgway, Ellen Bauer of Kersey, John Moore of Ridgway, Jennifer Bobenrieth of St. Marys, Leah Hayden of Oneida, N.Y., Andrea Hill of Warren, Keith Keister of Sunbury; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren including Fredie Moore of Ridgway.
He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Scott Keister; a great-grandson, Christopher Meyer; and by two sisters, Evelyn Ostrum and Marjorie Moore.
Friends will be received at the Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012 from 6-9 p.m. Military Honors will be accorded by the Ridgway Military Burial Detail. Memorial donations may be made to the Elk County Humane Society, 1029 E. Eschbach Rd., St. Marys, PA 15857 or to the Ridgway Public Library, 329 Center St., Ridgway, PA 15853.
