JOHNSONBURG â€“ As a former Johnsonburg Elementary School student, Kayla Nelson, the new Title I math teacher is inspired to be a part of the Johnsonburg School District as a teacher.
â€śI am so excited andÂ honoredÂ to be part of such a fantastic school district,â€ť Nelson said. â€śAs a former Johnsonburg graduate, it is truly a privilege for me to return to the school district to follow in the footsteps of my elementary school teachers.â€ť
Nelson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Edinboro University. Nelson is currently seeking her Masters in Special Education from Edinboro University.
Nelson said she became a teacher to be a part of helping kids become future leaders.
â€śI decided to become a teacher so I could helpÂ guide ourÂ future leaders,â€ť Nelson said. â€śMy favorite part of teaching is being able to work with children and help them succeed.â€ť
As a Title I teacher, Nelson said her goals are directed at providing her students with a quality education while achieving success.
â€śMy main goal for this year is to be an effective facilitator,â€ť she said. â€śI want to provide the students with a quality education, and help students succeed academically.â€ť
