Floyd Pennington

Floyd Pennington, 83, of 101 N. Mill St., Ridgway, passed away, June 10, 2011 at Elk Regional Health Center. He was born May 15, 1928, in Beaverdale, the son of Eanest and Arminta Meckley Pennington. He married Alice Johnson, she survives. He was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church. He had recently moved to Ridgway. He had lived in Florida and Connecticut prior to moving to Ridgway. He was a boiler maker who retired in York.
In addition to his wife of 61 years, he is survived by a son, Randy Pennington (Darla) of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; a daughter, Shelley Herman (Mark) of York; three grandchildren and by three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Mark Pennington; two sisters, Edith Fowler and Roberta Vibbert; and by two brothers, Albert and Blair Pennington.
Graveside funeral services for Floyd Pennington will be held in Ott Cemetery on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Craig Duffield, pastor of the Evangelical Covenant Church. There will be no visitation. Funeral arrangements, are under the direction of the Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Community Nurses, 757 Johnsonburg Rd., St. Marys, PA 15857.
