Flood rages through downtown

December 2, 2010

The Clarion River Bridge in downtown Ridgway barely cleared the rising waters that quickly rose early Wednesday morning from two days of rain and snow.

It was decided at 4 a.m. Wednesday by Emergency Management and the Ridgway Volunteer Fire Department to activate the Emergency Operations Plan as the raging Clarion River flooded the West End of downtown Ridgway.
Early Wednesday morning, the Borough of Ridgway was faced with one of its worst floods since January of 1992.
