Fire breaks out at Pennsy Restaurant

The Ridgway-based Pa. State Police report a fire marshal investigation that took placed on Aug. 21 at 2:10 p.m. at the Pennsy Restaurant owned by Michele A. Ritter of Kersey at 157 N. Broad St., Ridgway. According to reports, the Pa. State Police fire marshal and the Ridgway Fire Department investigated the origin and cause of a fire that damaged a two-story wood frame restaurant. The fire was contained to the attic and roof areas of the building. The restaurant was closed at the time of the fire and the building was unoccupied. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Circumstances are not considered suspicious. Damage is estimated at $25,000.
