Elkers top DCC by 24 shots

August 20, 2012

Ridgway's T.J. Schlimm fires a shot at the first tee Monday against visiting DuBois Central Catholic at Laurel Mill Golf Course. Schlimm fired a 41 to cap the Elkers' team score of 196.

Backed by a 35 from medalist Josh Roselli, Ridgway stretched their early undefeated streak to 2-0 with a 24-stroke victory Monday against visiting DuBois Central Catholic at Laurel Mill Golf Course.
Roselli was complemented by a trio of 40s fired by teammates Mitchell Gilmore, Josh Mitchell, and Jesse Reynolds. T.J. Schlimm capped off the scoring with a 41 for a team total 196.
Matt Aiello and Mitchell Stark also were on the course and fired 41, followed by Jake Klawuhn with a 44.
"We had good balanced scoring once again, this time led by Josh Roselli's 35," said Ridgway head boys varsity golf coach Dave Zawatski. "Hopefully, [Roselli] is starting to prove that he is one of the top players in District 9.
"The only thing holding the others back from also posting mid to high 30s is one bad hole. When they all put it together, watch out."
DCC was led by Mark Walker, who fired a 37. He was followed by Pat Sayers with 39 strokes, Kurt Palmer with a 45, Dan Sayers with a 47, and Ben Brinkley, whose 52 set DCC's total team score at 220 strokes. Connor Hindman did not factor into the scoring but also fired a 52.
Ridgway will get their first road test Thursday as they travel to Kane.
