Elk County Fair continues

Members of April School of Dance performed to a sizable crowd Wednesday night at the George A. Swanson Memorial Stage at the Elk County Fairgrounds. The Fair continues today with the Compact Car & Truck Demolition Derby at the Al Dietz Memorial Track at 7 p.m. That event will be complemented by the talent show at the George A. Swanson Memorial Stage at 7 p.m. Other fun events in the evening include the watermelon eating contest at the Starr Pavilion, the Hershey contest in Exhibit Hall No. 1 at 7 p.m., the best Jell-O dessert contest at 8 p.m. in Exhibit Hall No. 1, and the hay bale toss at 8 p.m. near the barn and the pinata, also at 8 p.m. at the Starr Pavilion. The Fair continues throughout the week and will culminate Saturday with a variety of events. The Fair opens at 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and will open at noon on Saturday.
