Elk County Fair begins today

KERSEY – The Elk County Fair begins today. The fair opens at 4 p.m. and carnival rides will be ready to go. The Monkey Man will be on the grounds from 4-10 p.m. and the Dazzling Mills Family will be onstage behind the Starr Pavilion at 5 p.m.
Cheesecake and trail mix registration will take place from 5-6 p.m. in Exhibit Hall No. 1. The straw pile will be in the Starr Pavilion at 5:30 p.m.
At 6 p.m., the opening ceremonies will be presented at the George A. Swanson Memorial Stage. The Fair Queen, Junior Queen, and Princess will be crowned, and the baked goods auction will feature the first-, second-, and third-place winners.
The Dazzling Mills Family will be onstage behind the Starr Pavilion at 7 p.m. The cheesecake contest and best trail mix contest will be at Exhibit Hall No. 1 at 7:10 p.m., followed by the apple pie eating contest at 7:30 p.m. at the Starr Pavilion. A cooking demonstration will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Exhibit Hall No. 1. The hay bale toss will take place at 8 p.m. near the barn. There will be a pinata in Starr Pavilion at 8 p.m. The fireworks will go off at dusk and the Dazzling Mills Family will be onstage behind Starr Pavilion at 9:30 p.m.
