Edith F. Mrofchinski

Edith F. Mrofchinski, 90, of 403 Valley View Ave., and formerly of 102 Evergreen Dr., Ridgway, died peacefully Tuesday afternoon, August 30, 2011, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born June 4, 1921 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Jefferson P. and Emma (Dallenbach) Oertly.
She married Andy (Ezoc) Mrofchinski on Feb. 14, 1941. He preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1997.
She had resided in Ridgway all her life and was a lifelong member of Faith United Church of Christ. She attended Ott School and was a 1939 graduate of the Ridgway Area High School. She enjoyed playing cinch at the Ridgway Senior Center with her friends and was an avid Rummikub player with family members. She was known for her great baking and especially for her wonderful fudge. She was a member of the Grant Road Coffee and Sewing Club, which for many years was a very fun and enjoyable time. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren; they were the highlight of her life.
She had been employed by IPM for 15 years.
She is survived by three children; Marlene (Donald) Carr of Ridgway, Brenda (Eric) Weissenfluh of Johnsonburg, and Roger (Kristy) Mrofchinski of Youngsville; six grandchildren, Beth Peterson, J.R. Smith, Donnie Carr, Tina Christner, Kelly Smith, and Erika Weissenfluh Stainsby; four great-grandchildren, Cortland Smith, Ian Necessary, Kagney Necessary, and Harlee Christner; one great-great- granddaughter, Jocelyn Necessary; one sister, Grace (Mitzie) Winters of Ridgway; one brother, Harold (Bucky) Oertly of Cheektowaga, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Theodore F., Frances E., Walter W. and Ralph R. Oertly; three sisters, Kathleen Wagner, Lucille Hinxman and Virginia (Toots) Pazinski.
A Memorial Service for Edith F. Mrofchinski will be held at the Faith United Church of Christ. Burial will be at Ott Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Memorials, if desired, can be made to Faith United Church of Christ.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
