ECC qualifies girls golfer for regionals

KANE – Two Ridgway girls golfers competed at the Girls Golf District Championships held Tuesday at the Kane Country Club.
Ridgway senior Brittanei Neubert finished 18th with a score of 120 for the 18 holes. Fellow senior Selena Scarnati was 22nd with a 140.
The top three finishers qualify for regionals on Oct. 18 at Tom’s Run Golf Course in Blairsville.
Samantha Dinger of Redbank Valley is the district champion with an 84. Kristy Hanes of Elk County Catholic and Larissa Roberts of Union tied for second with 87 and are both regional qualifiers.
Kyla Hoag of Kane was T-4 with an 88 and Kelsey Carlson of Kane was 15th with a score of 116.
Punxsutawney won the team championship with a 445, the team also qualified for regionals. Clearfield was second at 465 and Bradford took third at 466. Kane was fourth at 477.
