JOHNSONBURG – The Johnsonburg Community Paper Punchers Archery League now has a place of their own to practice thanks to Jason Dubler of Johnsonburg and a project he completed to attain the Eagle Scout Award.
Dubler is a member of Boy Scout Troop 83 of Johnsonburg.
“There is a league here every Tuesday,” Dubler said, “and before this was here they used to have to go to St. Marys to practice.”
In order to achieve the Eagle Scout Award, Dubler along with help from family, friends and scout leader Rob DiIulio, renovated the basement of the Johnsonburg Community Center into an archery practice area. The space was previously the community center’s weight room.
“I have some friends who shoot archery and approached me with the idea,” Dubler said. “So I decided to come down and do it.”
