Douglas D. Handley

Douglas D. Handley, age 56, of 1305 Front St., Ridgway, died Wednesday afternoon at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born Sept. 12, 1954 in Arlington, Va. son of the late Charles L. and Faith E. (Hoisington) Handley. He had resided in Ridgway for most of his life and was a former Lowell, Vt. resident. He was Methodist by faith and was a member of the Ridgway Odd Fellows Lodge #969. He was a 1972 graduate of North County Union High School in Newport, Vt. He had been employed by the Ridgway Borough for the last 13 years.
He is survived by two daughters, Emily (Handley) Hatch of White Field, N.H. and Sarah Handley of Milton, Vt.; two granddaughters, Baily and Lucy; one grandson, Elijah; four brothers, Michael Handley Sr. of Portland Mills, Jeffrey Handley Ohio, Brian Handley of Charlotte, N.C., and Kevin Handley of Mechanicsburg; one sister, Colleen Handley of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service for Douglas D. Handley will be held at a later date with the time and day to be announced.
Memorials if desired can be made to the donors' choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
