Doris J. "Dorie" McAlee

Doris J. "Dorie" McAlee, 84, of 627 First Ave., Johnsonburg, died Tuesday night, Aug. 19, 2014 at her residence following an illness of the past three years.
She was born June 29, 1930 in Oil City, daughter of the late James Kane and Grace Gier Kane Cyone.
On Jan. 29, 1949, she married Edward A. McAlee in St. Leo Magnus Church, Ridgway, and he survives.
She resided in Johnsonburg for the past 66 years and was formerly of Ridgway.
She was a 1947 graduate of Ridgway Area High School.
She had been employed by Stackpole Carbon Co. for 20 years and had worked for Penntech Papers in the sample department for five years.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Church and the Johnsonburg Senior Center.
In addition to her husband, Edward, at home, she is survived by four daughters, Bronwyn Hawkins of Erie, Kathleen, Mrs. Gary Messina of Erie, Rachel, Mrs. Craig Fitch of Johnsonburg, and Rebecca, Mrs. Daniel Bloam of Johnsonburg; three sons, Edward McAlee and his wife Linda of Lakeland, Fla., David McAlee and his wife Kelly of Johnsonburg, and Joseph McAlee of Johnsonburg; 17 grandchildren, Amy, Mrs. Shane Smith, Mary Grace, Mrs. Jim Light, Tobias Messina and his wife Terri, Erica, Mrs. Dodgie Natividad, Jason Messina and his wife Felicia, Aaron Fitch and his wife Tina, Adam Fitch and his wife Beth, Emily, Mrs. Nick Goossen, Daniel Bloam, Molly, Mrs. Stewart Corl, Alex Bloam and his wife Jessica, Travis McAlee, Calvin McAlee, Karley McAlee, Steven Biondi and his wife Amber, Shane Bickford and Jacob McAlee; 16 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Shirley Shape of Raleigh, N.C., Patsy, Mrs. James McAllister of St. Marys, and Sandy, Mrs. William Planeta of East Haddam, Conn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Donald Hawkins; a brother, Jackie Lee Kane; and a grandson, Christopher Bloam.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Doris J. McAlee will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, on Saturday, Aug. 23 at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor.
Interment will be in St. Leo's Cemetery, Ridgway. There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are under direction of the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg, Pa.
