Doris E. Eckert

Doris E. Eckert, 81, of Mechanicsburg, formerly of Ridgway, died Friday morning, March 16, 2012 at the Messiah Village, Mechanicsburg.
Born March 26, 1930 in Ridgway, she was the daughter of the late Robert Fingel and Anna (Anderson) Johnson. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. Eckert who died Nov. 14, 2008.
Mrs. Eckert was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ridgway where she was secretary for a time and was a very active volunteer there until she moved to South Central Pennsylvania. She worked as financial secretary for Clarion Sintered Metals, Inc. for 38 years until her retirement in August 2003. She was also active at the Ridgway Fire Company with her husband and a member of the Eastern Star #379 in Ridgway as well as the Masonic Lodge.
Doris is survived by her sister Annabelle Schlessman, of Aspers, and 20 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her five brothers, Loraine Johnson, Burnell Johnson, Theodore Johnson, Vincent Johnson, and Robert Johnson.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday. There will also be a service 11 a.m., Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ridgway, with a receiving of friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at the Oakmont Cemetery, Ridgway.
