During their regular meeting for the month of February, the Elk County Conservation District further discussed upcoming increases for the dirt and gravel roads portion of the state's recently-passed transportation bill.
The program has increased funding sevenfold with Pennsylvania municipalities set to receive $28 million in 2015 as opposed to the $4 million received in 2014.
The county received its allotted funding for fiscal year 2014 on Monday, with $25,000 in the pot for registered municipalities to use on dirt and gravel roads.
